Lisa Hansford

I am a certified Professional Integral Coach and have satisfied the stringent conditions of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and am PCC Certified.

My philosophy and approach to coaching is to offer clients an opportunity to engage in learning that generates ongoing personal and professional transformation.  I believe that coaching is about supporting people to be at their best in living, working and learning.  In a world where the speed of change and the pace of life appears to be accelerating, it sometimes seems impossible to create and sustain healthy change.   With this in mind, I partner with my clients in a way that supports them to be more competent and more fulfilled so that they are able to contribute to their organisations and find meaning in what they are doing.  Whether working with individuals, teams or cross-functional groups, the aim of my approach is to support my clients to realise potential, improve performance, build confidence and achieve the results that are important to them.

Personally, I am seeking to build a life that is meaningful, enjoyable and fulfilling.  I practice yoga regularly and enjoy spending quality time with the people that make me happy.  I am married and have 2 sons.

professional experience

I started my career working for a large Corporate Retailer and held a range of Human Resources roles across several business units during my 17 years of service, learning about all aspects of running a complex and dynamic business.

I spent 10 of those years in HR operational and leadership roles and then moved into Head Office into a Senior HR Leadership Strategic role. I developed a deep understanding of business as well as the challenges and complexities that leaders at all levels face.

In the past 10 years as an Executive Coach, I have worked with senior leaders and teams across a range of client groups including Corporate, Higher Education, NGO’s as well as private clients.

I have assisted other coaches in their development, serving on the certification committee for the year-long Professional Coaching Course (PCC) at the Centre for Coaching, UCT and also acting as a mentor for student coaches. I have extensive experience in designing and facilitating strategy development, leadership development, team development, managing conflict and improving team alignment and effectiveness.
